The Tap map

Making it easy to refill and reuse in Greenwich.

What is the project?

Green Greenwich’s Tap Map aims to reduce the amount of plastic water bottles in Greenwich by making it easy to refill and reuse more sustainable options. Businesses on the Tap Map have pledged to provide tap-water refills to anyone with a reusable bottle.

Thirsty Greenwich residents can identify a Tap Map location by the sticker in their window, or through the digital map on our website.

Why is it important?

Reducing the demand for plastic, even locally, is one step closer to reducing plastic pollution worldwide. Plastic pollution is detrimental not only to the health of the planet, polluting our oceans and endangering wildlife through ingestion, but also to people. Microplastics infiltrate our food and water, exposing us to toxic chemicals that persist in the environment for centuries.

Why should businesses sign up?

Businesses who sign up are publicly showing their support for a greener Greenwich and a healthier environment. Signing up is completely free – all you have to do is pledge to provide tap-water refills to anyone with a reusable bottle who asks.

Once you’re on the Tap Map, you get a sticker to display your status, and are featured on the digital Tap Map on our website. Join today!
